Also keep in mind this is a game so it's not a perfect simulation. If you play other wargames, either on the computer or boardgame style, keep in mind real life military strategy/tactics (for the most part) do work. Don't ever feel like you need to buy planes. There are a lot of games where I won't even buy planes or will only buy one or two depending upon the opponent and their anti-air network (ADN). Planes are tricky to maneuver correctly and a big points investment. You can dissect what the enemy did well and in turn do that yourself. Having said that if you play a game where your teeth get kicked in, and you will, - WATCH REPLAYS. I highly encourage you to set up or join "newbie only" games for those with low win rate or less than x games played. (Personally I liked it better when you just saw a rank in ALB and that told you how many games a person played, more or less, but that's an aside).
You can view peoples games played and stats by clicking on their name and clicking "view profile". You can choose to move forwards or backwards (if you move back make sure you leave a recon vehicle watching for enemy) but you can not sit still. If you sit still and artillery is shooting you while you sit there you can only do one thing about it. You have to use infantry to flush the enemy out. RPGs will destroy tanks if you get close enough to them. If you are the kind of person that can not handle losing then just get a refund now. At the very least have infantry and vehicles. You want to have infantry recon, vehicle recon and usually a recon helicopter. Don't just think "oh I'll send a tank to get shot at and then I'll see what's there." Because your tank will just die.ĭid I mention recon? Because seriously recon. And you can definitely get shot by things and not see them. Also it's not really 200 pages, a lot of it is fluffy stuff and illustrations. I'm not the best player ever but I am pretty decent.
